Enduro is a type of mountain bike racing where the downhills are timed, and the uphills are mandatory but not timed. Riders are timed in stages that are primarily downhill, with neutral "transfer" stages in between.

Long Travel, Wide Tires, Tough Components With suspension travel ranging from 150-180mm, Enduro bikes are much burlier than their shorter travel counterparts. This makes them much better suited to big drops, big hits and big air.

The concept was simple: get yourself to the top of a mountain and race to the bottom time-trial style. In general, modern enduro races involve anywhere from 3-6 timed stages. The timed portions of the race are mostly downhill but can vary in steepness, length, and difficulty depending on location.

Enduro road bikes generally have a longer wheelbase and a smaller reach, and the stack is also larger stack. This can be exchanged for a more upright cycling position. Although part of the aerodynamic performance is lost, it is more suitable for long-term cycling.
